-- Laura, your post sounds like it could have been written by myself (another Laura). I had a miscarriage (missed abortion) also. The D&C was at 14 weeks, the fetus had died at 9-10. My first period after the D&C was on time, but SO incredibly heavy I almost went to the Emergency room. I was literally gushing blood. The second one was also very very heavy, but not as frightening as the first. My luteals shrank from 12 to 10 days. My doctor said that my hormones could be out of balance, and it would take time to get back. In the meantime (without his knowledge), I am taking Vitex and eating lots of seaweed to help with iron and balancing out my hormones. I have heard from other women who experienced the exact same thing after a miscarriage, heavy periods and shortened luteals. Don't give up hope! Obviously this is not a medical opinion since I am not a doctor, but just a post to let you know you are not alone.
