Bacterial infection, cephalosporin and yeast infection?

From: Mary (anonymous@obgyn.net)

My DH brought home the most recent sickness from his workplace and, being the loving guy that he is, decided to share it with me. We visited our PCP yesterday and were diagnosed with a bacterial infection and given ceftin (250mg 2X/day for me since I am pregnant). I noticed that "vaginal irritation or discharge" is listed as a possible side effect.

Questions:

1) Is this referring to a yeast infection?

2) If so (and I've never had a yeast infection before - knock on wood) are there any foods/drinks that I should consume/NOT consume to lessen the chance of getting a yeast infection? I am 37 weeks and would like to do anything I can to avoid any problems in the upcoming weeks.

Thanks for your time,

Mary
