pyridoxine supplements

After I had my baby I had acne problems. Along with other meds, one dermatologist prescribed pyridoxine (50mg/day, which I believe is vitamin B6. He said it would help control any breakouts due to hormonal fluctuations in my menstrual cycle. My new dermatologist said that this won't help at all. Any other opinions on this?

Secondly, and more importantly, if I was to take this dose of pyridoxine every day and then I got pregnant, is this dose harmful to the baby if I was taking it for awhile before I realized I was pregnant? I ask because if the dose is not harmful, I will go ahead and take it in any hopes that it will help the acne. But, if it would be harmful, I probably would not take it because there is always a chance that I could get pregnant since I am on minocycline and bc pills. Thanks.
