FibroidsFrom: Tammy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 27 Feb 1998 10:41:19 -0600 (CST)
I have been diagnosed with Fibroid Tumors of the Uterus. I was curious if Fibroids can cause tendernous? I have 8 Fibroids located in different areas of the outer wall of the Uterus. Most of the fibroids are 4cm and smaller. There are 2 however that are 8 to 10 cm. One is located on the upper part of the Uterus. I have been experiencing tenderness around the umbilicus area. My periods are heavy but regular. I have had a great deal of back pain and a very heavy feeling in the lower area of my abdomen during ministration period. Is this all normal with fibroids? My plans are to have a complete hysterectomy soon but not able to be out of commission at this time. I have done some research and understand fibroids tend to be reoccurring. I am finished having children and think it best to have the hysterectomy. This was also recommended by my Doctor. Is there any urgency to have this done?
