Why was progesterone started?

Why? To control bleeding? If we're looking for fertility, taking progesterone doesn't help so I'm confused.

We usually use the first day of heavy bleeding.

Maybe medication to assist in ovulation is indicated if this is the problem and I'm not sure exactly what the problem is.
