Abnormal Fallopian Tube?From: Joan (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 18 Feb 1998 16:21:27 -0600 (CST)
Dear Drs. I recently had an HSG which showed my uterus situated way to the left of my pelvic cavity with one fallopian tube looking good and open. The other tube showed up faintly and was stretched all the way over to the other side of my abdomen, where the dye was just beginning to fill up the wide part of the tube when the procedure was completed. The RE said it looked "abnormal." I know that my cervix has always been to the left of my vagina, 'cause I do self-cervical exam pretty regularly, so I figure having a uterus on one side isn't new to me. I can't figure out how the other tube got all the way over on the right, though. Anyone familiar with this type of case? Does it mean *additional* problems for conceiving? I guess I am thinking I might be more prone to an ectopic pregnancy if the poor litle fella/gal has to travel that much farther before implantation. Thanks!!! Joan (38.5 years old, one miscarriage)
