Re: IVF: Pergonal vs FertinexFrom: anneminke (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 17 Feb 1998 09:57:28 -0600 (CST)
Hello Mary Ellen, This is the other IVF woman speaking! It's funny, last week I posted the same question on this forum. Dr. Loveley responded that the difference is that Fertinex (here in Holland we call it Metrodin-HP) is Highly Purified FSH (hence the possibility of using it sub-cutaneously) and Pergonal contains both FSH and LH. She said that some doctors think you would need the extra LH during stimulation, while others think that the LH produced naturally during the stimulation is enough. (Hello Doctors, correct me if I'm wrong!!) In 'my' IVF-clinic they consider the Highly Purified FSH, be it Fertinex or Puregon, the better option. I personally also prefer it, because I can myself the injections and do'nt have depend on others. Let me know how you are doing! (I will start in about four weeks with the shots). Good luck! Anneminke
