On November 25, 1996, one month before I turned 30, my period started and didn't stop! My period was on most of 1997. I went to several different doctors and received everything from birth control pills, to shots to other medicines. The dr's tried every pill imaginable and 2 D&C 's. Nothing helped. Finally she put me on Provera- I bled like a stuffed pig(as the old saying goes) I literaly couldn't leave the bathroom- I spent part of my 16 months of bleeding like this too. It actually stopped. I have now started again- it has been 4 days of the heaviest bleeding I have ever had. HUGE ( double fist size clots- no exaggeration there) I have yet to know why I was bleeding so bad. The thought is now that they don't know if I am ovulating or not. I can 100% understand your frustration, I was there. I thought I would go nuts! My dr's decided I needed a hysterectomy...I declined.
