Woah, you're over your two question "limit" in one breath! :-) It sounds like you are having anovulatory bleeding, which is more common in people with a history of irregular cycles. However, you could also have bleeding due to fibroids or other structural (anatomic) causes. I would think that at the very least you need evaluation of your thyroid hormone levels, prolactin, an hCG (pregnancy) test, and a pelvic ultrasound.
