about results from pap smear.

It means the cells looked funny, but not like cancer or precancerous changes, and that the cells were inflamed. Inflamed, like when a hangnail gets infected and is red and painful? (I'm a recovering nail-biter, so that analogy makes sense to me.)

You got a prescription, probably to treat some infection, after which you'll try again for a normal pap. I wouldn't be particularly worried if it were me (an, in fact, it was me just last year).

Remember that the way to protect your cervix's health is to limit the number of sexual partners, use condoms consistently, stop smoking cigarettes, and live a generaly healthy lifestyle. But even women who do all those things will get occasional abnormal paps.
