Lupron Part II...Dr. Marchbein

Dear Dr. Marchbein,

I spelled it right this time. Sorry about the last message I wrote to you. ;o)

I went to my gynecologist this morning. He examined me, and said although I was tender, he really couldn't feel anything. He asked for me to follow him, as he wanted to do the vaginal ultrasound.

Strange thing happened though as he was performing the ultrasound. He couldn't see either one of my ovaries or my uterus. We know it must be in there somewhere, as I had a period, but it is hiding from us really well. Could it be, that they could be hiding behind my intestines? The reason I ask is because I just had a small bowel follow through, and when the radiologist was pressing, I almost came off the table. I told him that felt like an ovary, but he said it wasn't, it was my intestines.

I also mentioned increasing the Lupron dosage to 7.5mg, or one of the other medications. He is going to talk with a Reproductive Endocrinologist today about me. My doctor said with the length of time that I have been on the lupron, I shouldn't have gotten a period so fast. He is wondering if there is possibly a mass. He is sending me to the hospital tomorrow for another ultrasound...pelvic and vaginal.

Do you have any idea what might be going on? I was trying to joke about it with the doctor, and told him the lupron worked so well, not only is it trying to get rid of the implants, but it has actually gotten rid of my ovaries and uterus. Pretty good stuff, I'd say!!

Thanks again for all of your help. I am waiting for you to move to Atlanta. ;o)
