Maybe it's just me, but I would have a problem with my OBGYN if I went to him/her (especially if I were a referral and had never seen him/her before)and the OBGYN just looked at a bunch of tests and told me to come back in a couple of months. I have *NEVER* been to the OBGYN that he/she did NOT do a thorough vaginal, pelvic, and rectal palpation. I personally would find someone more interested in me as a person and who would recognize that I was a frightened woman and mother. There are so many excellent physicians in the world that no one needs to be dismissed with a "probably a ruptured cyst" and come back if something happens. I do hope you found a second opinion. Don't mess around, find someone you are comfortable asking these questions of and not rely on an Internet consult. Severe pain anywhere is not normal. Mary Ross Gawlas, RN
