About six years ago i noticed a discharge from my left breast and of course i panicked.I went to my doctor the very next day.He gave me a breast exam and informed me i had no lump.He then sent me for blood work, looking for a hormone in balance, none, everything came back normal. My next step was an ultrasound to examine all the ducts.Normal.My doctor informed me it was something that does occur in some women that is in the none threatening breast category.Unfortunately,i was not pleased with that answer.Always keeping in mind that my nipple has been discharging off & on for almost seven years. In the last 2 years my regular doctor has been off work.In the interim i have been seeing another doctor who happens to be a great friend of ours.I went to see him on one morning when my discharge was bloody. He sent me for a mammogram.Normal.He also mentions that this is not something that he is too concerned about and agrees with my previous doctor. After the mammogram i wanted to know what else i could do to get a reason for this to be happening. He then sent me for a gallactogram, where they insert a needle in the affected duct. They couldn`t get it in,and after many attempts the specialist said to me,you know that it is not unusual for this to happen and i should not be too concerned. If they would have been able to successfully get the needle in it may have been able to determine if i have what you call,Intra ductal papiloma. My doctor suspects this is what could be affecting me.Today Nov.26th i sit at my computer with my nipple discharging at this very moment. The discharge remains a smokey yellow to gold beige color. To this day i still feel very worried that this could be more serious.I am 36,married and have 2 children one who is 11 and one who is almost 5. can`t let it go,Laurie
