Melissa,

It's most likely one of three things: 1)ectopic pregnancy like Carolyn said. A late period and abdominal pain is an ectopic until proven otherwise. Abnormal bleeding or staining usually goes with this but is not mandatory for an ectopic. Frequently (not always) a positive home pregnancy test.

2)ovarian cyst. This can give you a late period and the discomfort with a negative pregnancy test.

3)none of the above. It can be a gastrointestinal problem unrelated to the missing period (sounds like an Ellery Queen novel, "The Case of the Missing Period").

Because of possibilties #1 & #2, I'd get checked sooner rather than later. #1 can be life threatening.
