I've used a pessary to hold things in for nearly a year now. There has been no further deterioration. Pessary is removed every other month, cleaned and reinserted. I don't know Im wearing it as it is not uncomfortable. In fact it solved the bladdar leakage problem for me. I am 48 and plan to go through menopause in a few years and when completed have a hysterectomy. There are about 7 kinds of pessaries, perhaps one would work for you.
