OK...Here goes. I have a left adnexal mass, possibly dermoid measuring around 3cm. I have had a previous dermoid and they run in my family. Laparoscopy was performed to remove cyst but there was nothing there. He could find no endometriosis either. Dr. says dermoid COULD be inside the ovary but too small to be causing my now daily pain (daily for over 2months to date about 3 or 4 on scale of 1-10). I went to a new doctor who did blood tests all normal and pap tests all normal and std pid swabs etc all normal. Repeat ultrasound two months after first ultrasound and one month after lap. shows mass is still there, still possible dermoid. I have absolutely no related bowels symptoms like diarrhea or constipation or pain relief following bm or increased pain after eating. Lower back pain with ovary pain and occassionally accompanied by menstrual type cramps. Keeps me awake. Still no definate diagnosis.

I know it is safe to "wait and see" with a dermoid attached to the ovary but what about if it is inside? Is it safe to get pregnant without a definate diagnosis of my pelvic pain? How large could it grow before possible bursting ovary? What else could be going on here? Any advice is appreciated.

Take Care, Robin de Graauw
