I took Micronor for contraception and supression of endometriosis. My endometriosis was diagnosed in Oct. of 95 and was classified as "mild" with a "wait and see" kind of attitude--meaning the doc wasn't going to jump to laps, etc. until I said I couldn't take it anymore. I had an IUD just prior to the pills and had a real rough time with it and spent most of 2 weeks every month down in bed with my heating pad and munching ibuprofen like popcorn during mid-cycle and then with my period. After the IUD, I went on the Micronor and life got much easier--down to a few days twice monthly in bed. I also did not get pregnant while taking the Micronor. I continued to have regular periods unlike some who take the Depo shots. I also did not have any side effects from taking the pills. I probably am not the best to answer this though, as my endometriosis isn't as bad as most and I also never tried the Depo shots. Maybe if I had gone with the Depo I would have been pain free--who knows! I do know that the pain improved rather than getting progressively worse like it was while I was on the IUD. Hope this helps some!
