My initial thought was the same. However, with only 5 cases and not the full details it's not that simple. It could very well be that the doctor informed his patients he would be out of town at their EDD and asked if they really preferred his attendance as opposed to whoever is on call. The patients may have opted to be induced just to have their own provider present. As we well know, induction can be the beginning of a whole batch of interventions (necessary or not - depending on the situation).
