Hi Jennifer,

First off, I'm Not a doctor but I am a retired nurse if that counts for anything And the mother of four. So much for my cridentials.

I will try and explain this "Old Placenta" syndrome.

1. No-one can ever be truly positive of the Exact due date All The Time.

2. If Mom-to-be if off by a few days or weeks and the baby is overdue instead of under-due or even On Target; the placenta starts to wither away as it has Used Up it's nourisment and begins to have less blood in it. Blood is what feeds the un-born child and at this point it is the same as not having the proper intake of food in a live human being.

3. When this happens the un-born child starts to Loose body weight and so thus the reason for inducing.

I believe this is the reaso the physician induced your sister. How's the baby? How much did it weigh?
