pubic symphysis separationFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 14 Oct 1997 20:23:26 -0500 (CDT)
I'm 29 years old, 5'3", 98 lbs. I gave birth to my first child one year ago. Natural childbirth, healthy pregnancy, normal delivery. However, during delivery, my pelvis separated at the pubic symphysis. I was unable to walk for 4 weeks following the delivery and used a walker for the next 6 weeks. I continue to have some pain and the pubic bones have not returned to their original position. Is there a risk of reinjury or other related complications in future pregnancies? Is vaginal delivery too risky in my case?
