sperm motility

We have just been told that we have poor sperm motility (47%) and recommended that we move on to ICSI. I was so numb I didn't think to ask what are the causes of low motility and what can be done to improve them. I know we will eventually see a urologist, but, could a history of hernia repair and prostatitis be the cause ? Are there any vitamins (c,zinc) that can be taken ? Also, what are the chances of it being increased or better on another sample ?

I will ask our RE, but won't be able to see her for another three weeks.

Thanks !
