Depo Provera is "depo medroxyPROGESTERONE acetate", so it does increase progesterone. As Dr Hill said, progesterone causes the uterine lining to thin down, so you often don't bleed. If you can be patient (believe me, I know how hard *that* can be ;-) ), your periods will probably start on their own once your own estrogen causes the uterine lining to thicken up a bit. If you really, really want to have a period, I'd give you estrogen, just like Dr Hill. A progesterone shot would not be the thing to do when you still have extra progesterone in your system from the Depo Provera. Good luck
