Norplant Removal, Quitting Smoking & Hormonal ChangesFrom: Davida (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 29 Aug 1997 19:11:36 -0500 (CDT)
I recently had my Norplant removed after approx. 4 yrs. & also quit smoking at the same time in anticipation of having another child. It's been about almost 2 mo. since I had the Norplant removed and quit smoking. I've noticed blood clots when I menstruate for quite some time now & am wondering if that's normal. I have also had "hot flashes" in the last year although I'm only 23 yrs.old. I've been told that sometimes younger women will experience unusual hormonal changes & need shots to correct the problem (similar to menopause therapy?). Most of my symptoms are mild but do not seem to change. I would like any information about the possible changes in hormones after removing the Norplant & how to go about looking into it with my doctors. Thanks!
