It sounds like when you're in the office, you are a passive patient-expecting the doctor to tell you all the things you'd like to hear or think you should hear, instead of pro-actively asking questions and taking personal responsibility for the research and information about which you have already read. You might consider sharing your questions and expressing your confusion to your doctor.

Subject: Uncertain about Clomid

I went to my ob/gyn today about my infertility problem. He decided to put me on Clomid. I am kind of nervous about taking it. I have been reading that it could diminish the cervical mucus to the point where I may need to be artificially inseminated, yet my doctor didn't mention this to me. Does this usually happen or is it rare? He also made no mention of increasing the dosage if it doesn't work in the first few months, like I have read that most doctors are doing. He said if it doesn't work, I will be sent to an infertility specialist. Does this drug increase your chances of becoming pregnant, or decrease the chances because of the cervical mucus? I am confused. Please help
