Re: Choosing a Doc

Hi Luann -

Just wondering, did you put those same questions to her? I would be curious as to how she would answer?

Your insurance company should also be able to provide you with that information too - though I don't understand why you couldn't get a complete list from the hospital based program. I know that they are supposed to offer the first three choices, which are supposed to be listed at random according to the criteria you give them. The theory is that the names rotate in the computer system. At least that is how is used to work when I used to work for M.D.s. However, they are supposed to give you a complete list if requested.

Finally, I don't know where in No. Virginia you are. However, if you aren't too far from Bethesda, I can give you the name of the BEST OB/GYN (sorry to all the other Best doctors on the list :-) ) I've bragged on this list a few times about what a great physician he is. He is thorough, takes all the time you need to answer every question you have and always makes you feel that no question is silly, stupid, etc. He even points out the questions he thinks you should be asking. If you aren't too far from Bethesda, email me, and I'll give you his name/number.
