another HRT questionFrom: Joanne (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 01 Jun 1997 00:06:26 -0400
Geez, I hate to be a pest, and hog the forum, but all of these questions concerning ERT/HRT brought another question to my mind. I developed a rash to both arms, after my second dose of depo-provera, pill form. When I told my doctor I had an allergic reaction, he told me it was impossible, as it is produced naturally in my body. I've seen enough drug reactions to recognize them well, enough, and I know I hadn't used anything new, or put anything on my arms for it to have been caused by something else. I do know a doctor, who is heavily involved with endo, is researching the theory that many of us, are indeed allergic to at least one of our hormones. Knowing all of this, does it mean I could be allergic to all forms of progesterone? Would I even need to worry about it. Would I likely just be put on estrogen after my 3-6 month waiting period, for any residual endo, to die off? Or would it be a combination of HRT? Any feedback would be appreciated. I'm 43 if that is a consideration. Thanks for your time. Joanne in NJ
