bone density

Hi everyone. Have another question regarding my treatment post hysterectomy for endometriosis. I will not be taking estrogen for at least 3-6 months, if I can stand the menopausal symptoms. My past diet was abysmal when it came to calcium intake. It wasn't until my coworkers and I attended a nursing forum on nutrition that we all became aware of how little calcium we actually consume. Since then (only a little over a year ago) I began taking oscal 500 mg twice a day along with some magnesium. For years now, I've been working out on a regular basis, doing step aerobics, ski machine, light weight workouts, etc. I had to stop recently due to the increased pain of endo, then my subsequent surgery. In view of all of the above, is it wise to consider having a bone density study done? Though it hasn't been suggested, I think it may be wise. What is your take on the situation. Thanks for your time.
