Occasionally thyroid abnormalities are found along with prolactin elevation. That can be the cause of a variety of symptoms, some of which you listed
>I understand a high Not true. Above 100, the chance for elevated prolactin to be associated with a microadenoma of the pituitary increases to a point where MRI is necessary to evaluate it. In our lab (I state "our lab" because all labs have different "normals") 60 would definitely be treated, especially if it were associated with menstrual irregularities. Why was the prolactin drawn? Galactorrhea (nipple discharge), amenorrhea (lack of periods or other symptoms? but my PMS is baddd!!! Just wrote a repsonse to someone about perimenopause/PMS that might also be helpful
>Thanks for any information. You're welcome. Hope the info helps. I know Dr. Lovely could put her two cents in and more eloquently answer your query.
