Re: Hot flashes....From: Joanne (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 28 May 1997 10:14:37 -0400
Laurie, I read your post to Beth, concerning ways to deal with hot flashes, other than HRT. I too have found some relief with Evening Primrose Oil. I had also been drinking a soy powdered beverage daily, with great success, though it could be, that it's just too early yet, for the more intense hot flashes, since I'm only 2 weeks post op. Anyway, despite being told, that it was unlikely that soy could activate any residual endo, I stopped using it, just in case. The hot flashes and especially the night sweats, have definitely gotten worse. I'm going to resume the soy drinks, and see what happens. I've also heard that prevention magazine reported something called Black cohosh was good for dealing with hot flashes. Have you ever heard of this, and if so, what is it?
