US reportFrom: Joanne (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 27 May 1997 20:18:47 -0400
I had written awhile back concerning my sister, who had developed severe pelvic and back pains, and rectal discomfort, associated with her periods. She has followed up with her gyn and a gastro-enterologist, as was suggested and just had a vaginal US. The report shows a retroverted and top normal uterus, with a thickened endometrial stripe, measuring at least 15mm. Both ovaries are normal in size with small follicular cysts noted on the left. There is minimal fluid in the cul de sac. My question: Does this US appear to be normal? Could it be indicative of endometriosis? She is 45 years old. Thanks for your time.
