We've discussed this on the Forum recently -- you may want to check the archives for further answers.

This new procedure involves placing a catheter in a groin vein, treading it to the blood vessels supplying the fibroid (injecting dye to guide the way), and then injecting little "pellets" to block the blood supply to the fibroid. This should then allow the fibroid to shrink. New fibriods, however, can grow. It's only being done one or two places in the US and is used when there are only one or two fibriods.
