Though I'm not an oncologist, we recently had a case here of a BCT (benign cystic teratoma) with squamous cell carcinoma arising in it. Malignant degeneration of a BCT is very rare but squamous cell ca is the most often described. According to our oncologists, if the lesion is contained, prognosis is excellent. A leiomyoma is a common, benign tumor of the smooth muscle cells of the uterus. Calling it "serosal" denotes its location on the outer wall of the uterus.
