A Bandle's ring is a constriction of the uterus. Occasionally they can "grip" the baby so tightly as to make vaginal delivery imposssible (I had one such case since I started residency in 1987) >

Your baby who had the blood transfusions has the same risks of developing hepatitis of HIV as anyone else having a blood transfusion. Check with your doctor for the specific risk rates in your area. In terms of future pregnancies, you will have to be monitored very closely with antibody titers and possible amniocentesis and/or umbilical cord blood sampling to make sure that baby is not hemolysing (destroying) its blood cells. Perhaps one of our MFM listers can anwer this better?? >
