The newest fibroid procedure I have heard of is "embolization". It is done by inserting tiny granules into the vein which supplies blood to the firboids. This cuts off the blood supply and causes them to shrink. This procedure has been performed in the past to stop uterine bleeding and is now being used to shrink fobroids. This procedure takes about an hour and no huge incision is necessary. A program regarding this procedure recently aired on WABC in New York. You can write to Dr. Jay Adlersberg, 7 Lincoln Square, NY, NY 10023 or call 212-456-3161. The Dr. who is performing this procedure in in Philadelphia, PA. Hope this helps you get the information you need.
