Presuming your cycles are normal, the appropriate follow up at this point would be to have a thorough breast exam and a couple of blood tests. These tests would be able to rule in or rule out excessive production of a hormone from the pituitary gland which could cause this. The tests are: serum prolactin and TSH. If these are normal and the exam is normal, you're OK. (There are several other causes of elevated prolactin or TSH including an incision in the chest wall and some medications. These possibilities should be discussed with a physician.) If either the exam or blood tests are abnormal, further workup is necessary.
