Usually the symptoms of esophagitis come more rapidly and leave more rapidly than in your wife, but nonetheless, it has occurred. If over the counter remedies don't work, please have her see a doctor soon. This may be the first symptoms of an underlying gastrointestinal problem brought to the fore by Fosamax
