One explanation is that a new infection with HPV is present. Has your partner been examined? I would also suggest you get a second opinion from an experienced colposcopist... one that works closely with a pathologist to make absolutely sure of the diagnosis before you have any further treatments. Usually cryotherapy is not as reliable as LEEP. The size of the abnormal areas is also important. What kind of cells were found this time in the endo cervix? These are some of the questions in my mind. The chances of you having difficulty carrying a child depend upon how much cervix was removed with the LEEP. And certainly if laser is employed and more cervix is removed, your chances for an incompetant cervix may go up. In general though the risk for this complication is small. good luck, Doug Krell MD
