You still could be pregnant. I'd wait another few days and check again.

I have read that these signals don't necessarily mean that >you are ovulating--but what else can they signify?

Some people feel that even though you have an LH surge, it can be "inadequate"--doesn't get up high enough to trigger ovulation. The ovuluation predictor kits are set at some threshold (varies from kit to kit) to pick up a certain amount in the urine. So if your kit picks up a level of 25, for example, it will turn positive, even if your surge doesn't go "high enough" to trigger ovulation.

Also, is it normal to >still see a faint line when using an OPK for a couple days after a

Yes, because it will react to whatever lingers from your surge.

My doctor's next recommendation is to go on clomid, and I >guess the signals are tellling me to do so--are there any other tests I

Only your doctor, who knows your full history, could tell you that right now. But it certainly sounds reasonable to me to try Clomid if there is nothing else significant in your history (history of ovarian/tubal infections, pelvic surgeries--which could indicate tubal blockage). Has your husband/partner had a semen analysis? I think it's a good idea to check that before starting fertility medicines, so you don't "waste" cycles of medicine with an existing sperm problem.
