Ovarian cysts were found. Sounds like a strange path report to me. A decidual reaction is that which mimicks the appearance of a change associated with a pregnancy. That appearance is usually a whitish-red mottled appearance. Path reports do not, as a rule, state negatives, (e.g. no endometriosis was found), unless the presumptive diagnosis by the surgeon was that of endometriosis and the pathologist is refuting that assertion. The ovarian cyst part is self explanatory. Also, this is a gross (as in large, not as in icky-gross) path report. The important part of a report is often times the microscopic report.
