I've had 2, so I can understand the mix of excitement and anxiety you may be feeling now. First, you are much, much more likely to deliver a healthy, happy baby than you are to miscarry again (the risk of recurrent miscarriage after 1 previous is about 20%). A blighted ovum is basically a fertilized egg that stops developing very early in the pregnacy, before a heartbeat ever forms. It often is a random event. Sometimes a low progesterone level can cause an early miscarriage; this can easily be checked with a blood test, and if low, supplements may be helpful. The best of luck to you. My thoughts are with you, Loriann.
