I have been treated for yeast (and bladder) infections, to no avail. The prescribed variety of creams and pills to clear up yeast probably just made things worse. I am 49, peri-menopausal, in my 4th month of Hormone Replacement Therapy and have a cystocele(prolapsing bladder), which is probably complicating things. I feel like a basket case sometimes. I found a lot of help here on this forum. This chronic itching/burning may be something called Vulvodynia or Vulvar Vestibulitis. It affects between 100,000 and 150,000 women in the USA alone. Below are a list of postings that you might want to check out. (I hope this works out alright-- I've been copying and pasting between windows and applications -I lost this whole finished letter once-I'm new to this) March 11 Vulvodynia Linda Maurice http://forums.obgyn.net/forums/womens-health/WOMENSHEALTH.9703/0189.html March 20 Re:Vulvodynia {plus I need help myself} Kathy http://forums.obgyn.net/forums/womens-health/WOMENSHEALTH.9703/0301.html March 20 Re: Vulvodynia (plus I need help myself) Roberta Speyer http://forums.obgyn.net/forums/womens-health/WOMENSHEALTH.9703/0315.html April 1 Re: Vulvodynia (Thank you, thank you, thank you.!) joy.intheam@snet.net http://forums.obgyn.net/forums/womens-health/WOMENSHEALTH.9704/0001.html If you read these postings and follow the links you'll a lot of helpful information. Please feel free to e-mail me. If there is enough interest, perhaps we could start a support group here. Its not all in your head--that's the wrong end. As for me, I think I'll go sit on an ice cream cone. Thanks, Kathy
