Piper After a year of not bleeding, you are considered menopausal. If a menopausal woman begins beeding again, it should be investigated. That investigation could be by ultrasound, by endometrial biopsy (kinda like a "mini D&C"), by hysteroscopy (looking iniside your uterus wiht a litlle telescope) or by D&C. In most instances, the findings are benign, but the biggie -- uterine cancer -- shold be ruled out. Talk to your doctor again about investigating your bleeding. -- Kelly Shanahan, MD S.
