Mary-

Actually, the length of time you have had endometriosis has no bearing on how hard it is to remove. Endometriosis can be superficial and easy to remove, or can be "deep" and harder to remove. It also depends on how many implants are present, and where they are located. If there are hundreds of them, for example, then hysterectomy may be a good option, whereas if there are only a few, then more conservative surgery, such as simply removing them by the laparoscope, may be the best bet. There is just no way to tell until you get in there and look around.
