Ashley Hill, M.D.: "Re: Advice Needed About Early Menopause 30 y/o" I have a friend whose 35 y/o niece went into menopause after the birth of her first child five years ago. She was told this is "normal"...Also was told "you have only so many eggs and when they are gone, you go into menopause"...She has been on HRT since that time...Her mother and aunt (my friend) have Both had breast cancer five years ago and her maternal grand-mother died of ovarian cancer at age 68. My friend is worried that all of this is not normal at her age and she is worried about the HRT and the possibility of BC with such a prolonged,post-menopausal period of taking HRT.
