Pre_Conception Visit

I telephoned my OB/GYN's office today to shedule a preconception visit (we plan to try in May) and was told the doctor doesn't make these kind of appointments unless you've had a problem in the past. I was really surprised and disappointed, becase that practice seems contradictory to everything I've been reading about pregancy. In fact she didn't even offer to have the nurse call in a prescription for prenatal vitamins. I really like him, he's young (5 yrs out of resisdency), and very gentle) but I already feel like we're not on the same wavelength in regards to pregnancy. I am thinking about finding a new doctor. Do you think I'm being too harsh? Opinions from MDs especially welcolm here.
