Your question brings up one of the least-advertised, but in my eyes one of the most beneficial, aspects of taking the birth control pill. If you are taking a monophasic pill (where the concentrations of hormones don't vary throughout the month; usually all the pills are the same color except for the placebo ones you take during your period), you can simply skip the placebo pills and immediately start your next pack. If you are taking a triphasic pill (hormone concentrations vary throughout the month; usually three different colors + placebo; usually has the term "tri" in the name of the pill), it can be a little trickier. In that case it's probably best to skip the placebo pills and take the same color pills (from a new pack) that you would ordinarily take right before your period. If you just start a new pack of triphased pills, you are more likey to have problems with breakthrough bleeding. If you have any questions, your doctor should be able to help you quickly over the telephone. Hope you have a wonderful wedding!
