I did a quick search this afternoon on the drug Paxil, and found the following site which is pretty technical but has just about anything you could want to know about Paxil: http://www.fairlite.com/ocd/medications/paxil.shtml As a summary, it said there have been no well-controlled trials in pregnant women and recommended talking to your physician about your intent to become pregnant. It can be used if clearly necessary, but perhaps you and your physician could find another, possibly safer, drug for you to take during your pregnancy. According to this web site, Paxil is not to be used by nursing mothers, so if breastfeeding is something you are considering, that may be another reason to find something else that will control your panic attacks during pregnancy and beyond. I'm sure there are other patients who have been through similar circumstances and hopefully the physicians assisting us on the list will be able to give you more information!
