Life After Sixty

Does anyone out there have any ideas for someone who finds themself on their own (widowed or divorced) after spending their entire adult life bringing up children and being a mate to someone?

Girlfriends and lunch and work are OK but there needs to be some driving force in a persons life to make it exciting!

Any suggestions from some (mature) list-members?

It's not loneliness, it's just some-thing is missing...

Is this something that gets better with time or does one just get used to it?
