MENORRHAGIA: Irregular Periods - When to see my doctorFrom: Amanda (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 23 Jul 2009 12:18:11 -0500 (CDT)
I stopped using birth control pills December 2008. My first menstrual cycles were fairly normal, between 26 and 29 days longs. Two cycles ago, my period became lighter that normal, but it was still a period. Last cycle my period was even lighter and lasted only 3 days (it usually last for 4-5 days). On the morning of day 25 of this cycle, which was yesterday morning, I had normal day one bleeding when I woke up (bright red blood in toilet and on tissue paper), but I have had no bleeding or spotting since. I am fairly certain that I am not pregnant (last intercourse on on day 10 of a 29 day cycle in May, I have had 2 periods since, have no other symptons of pregnancy and took a home pregnancy test 4 weeks after intercourse). How long should I wait before seeing my doctor? Should I wait and see what happens next month? Thanks.
