Hi, Any irregular bleeding in late age needs careful investigation as in your case. Pelvic ultra sound is must and first to know condition of endometrium. If endometrial thickness is more than 12 mm ,is is desirabe to get D & c and biopsy to rull out endometrial malignancy or otherwise. Oralcontraceptives in over dose to stop bleeding is just a temporary measure and not a specific tratment. One can do D & c even when you are bleeding. Dr.Narayan Patel M.D. D.G.O.
